Lauren and Kyle contacted us and booked Mulberry & Sage to be their Blue Water Convention Center wedding photographer for 2022. In the meantime, they wanted to do a Marine City engagement photography session, and we were thrilled to spend the evening with them to get to know them better. Kyle is Courtney’s cousin, so that’s how we all connected. (more…)
We had a really busy month of July, and especially the last half, it seems like. But we were so excited to spotlight AnnaLee and Dan on the blog. When AnnaLee contacted us about photographing her upcoming (2 part) wedding in 2021 and 2022, we were thrilled. I (Megan) have been friends with her brother since the 5th grade. In fact, he is probably my oldest friend that I have in Michigan, because that’s the year that I moved here from California. We remained friends since then, share so many funny childhood stories, and so when his little sister AnnaLee told me that she wanted Mulberry & Sage to photograph her wedding, I was seriously stoked. We got to work planning her Great Lakes Engagement Photography session with the love of her life, Dan. (more…)
Stephenie and Rob had an ultra-eventful wedding day, and we were thrilled to tag along and capture their Port Huron lighthouse wedding on June 24th, 2021. Their day began with some ominous weather reports; there was a 90% chance of rain all day long, but the weather held off the entire time of their outdoor ceremony and also their portrait time. It wasn’t until the very tail end that it started raining, an we hopped in the cars to drive up to their reception, and that’s when the sky opened up. (more…)
Over the past two years, we’ve gotten to know Taylor and Justin. First, Courtney traveled and did their Chicago engagement photography session. Then the next year, we photographed their intimate wedding ceremony, right in the midst of COVID (it was very safe, and very small.) Oh, and we also can’t forget that Taylor is Ashley’s sister (how they originally met us) and we even saw them last fall at Jenn’s wedding in Tawas. When their plans changed and we became their Wisconsin Destination Wedding photographers, it felt natural and easy to go along for the ride along with them, and document their love story! Needless to say, we feel emotionally connected with this couple and their friend group. (Bridesmaids & groomsmen- carry on the trend for us…..ok?) (more…)
Alyson and Dan got married in Lakeport on July 3rd, and we loved being their Lake Huron wedding photography team for the holiday weekend. The two of them met at Great Lakes Italian Restaurant. Aly’s family owned it, and Mat was a cook. They hit it off easily and struck up a quick and fun friendship, and evolved into so much more over their restaurant shifts together. Mat isn’t from the area originally, but Aly grew up in Lakeport. The two of them always thought they’d move away together out of state, but when they found out they were expecting their daughter, they decided to plant some roots in Lakeport themselves, and wound up buying the home and property across the street from Aly’s mom’s house.
