Lakeport Wedding Photographer | Dana & Brad

Lakeport Wedding PhotographerWe met Dana and Brad last fall at one of our favorite restaurants in Port Huron- The Raven, and they were looking for a Lakeport Wedding Photographer for their August 2020 wedding. We learned who they were, about the blending of their adorable families and also their backstory. Brad likes to joke that Dana is older than him, and when he was just a kid, driving with his dad by the mall when he saw a beautiful blonde drive by in a blue green chameleon t-top Firebird with her hair flying in the wind. He turned to his dad and said outloud, “I’m going to marry that girl.” (more…)

Kimball Wedding Photographers | Kate & Kevin

Kate and Kevin have weathered a true storm, quite literally and figuratively. They were booked to get married and have us as their Kimball wedding photographers on June 7th of this year, and literally were holding out hope until about 3 weeks before. We gave them so many props, because while we were in contact with them, they seemed relatively low key about postponing. Solitude Links is an amazing Kimball wedding venue, and re-booked their wedding for a Sunday in August. As the date got closer, their indoors wedding got moved outdoors because of the executive order.  (more…)

  • Solitude Links Covid Wedding Port Huron | Ceil & John

Solitude Links Covid Wedding Port Huron | Ceil & John

    Covid wedding Port Huron

I will never forgot meeting Ceil for the first time inside one of our favorite Downtown Port Huron coffee shops, The Exquisite Corpse. She met us along with her daughter in law and maid of honor, Julie. We had a latte, shook hands goodbye, and were excited to photograph her upcoming July wedding at Solitude Links. That date was March 11th, and if I would have known that that was the last time I’d leisurely sit in a coffee shop and look around and see the full smiling faces of people laughing and talking, I’d like to think I would have soaked it all in a bit more, because two days later I got a phone call at 6:00am that school was cancelled for the next two weeks (sigh. two weeks. Remember that?) I sent Ceil over her contract that day, and specifically remember thinking “I’m glad this will have all blown over at the end of July.” Courtney and I discussed the 4H Fair that was scheduled to happen the week leading up to Ceil’s wedding date, and chatted about back up plans in case one of her girl’s had a horse show that day. Flash forward to 4 months later, and we were able to finally photograph Ceil and John’s special day, Covid wedding style, and who could have ever guessed in March what that would have looked like. (Spoiler: it was stunning and so special and unique.) (more…)

  • Port Huron Intimate Wedding | Kristen & Dominic

Port Huron Intimate Wedding | Kristen & Dominic

Port Huron intimate weddingKristen and Dominic were one of our first 2020 weddings that we booked back in March of 2019. They both live in the Grand Rapids area, and loved Solitude Links and found us because of our website and past work done there. We met up at our old Port Huron photography studio (womp womp. We miss that place.) and got to know each other a bit. We learned that they love to travel, and met while being lifeguards at the city pool together. And most of all? We learned and saw just how much they love each other; that was obvious right from the start. Their Port Huron intimate wedding ended up being so beautiful and special, but it wasn’t an easy road getting there, that’s for sure.  (more…)

A Downtown Detroit Engagement Session | Hanna & Joe

    Detroit Engagement Session

Hanna and Joe first got connected with us through one of our amazing Detroit photographer friends, Katie from Katie Anton Photography. (For real, shameless plug: if you’re looking for a posed newborn or studio baby photographer, she’s our go-to referral.) Hanna is her niece, and sent her over our direction for her 2022 wedding. Because of Covid, we first “met” them and had their consult via Zoom, so it was wonderful getting to meet them face to face, and not just virtually. They wanted to get save the dates made, and wanted their engagement session done relatively soon. After chatting about their ideal location, we got to work scheduling their Downtown Detroit Engagement session.  (more…)
