Brown City Wedding Photographer | Taylor & Zack

Brown City Wedding PhotographerWe met Taylor in the early spring because she was searching for a Brown City wedding photographer to document her marriage to her best friend and fiancee, Zack. She actually had previously booked a different photographer, who ended up accidentally double-booking the date, and we happened to have her exact date open, and are also semi-local to the Brown City area. We love being Sanilac County wedding photographers, and since we both live in the country anyways, Brown City is only about a 45 minute commute through {approximately} a billion corn fields away from us.

Taylor and Zack met while they were both in the marching band for Siena Heights University in Adrian, Michigan. They fell in love, and they absolutely cannot wait to live an awesome life together. Courtney went and spent some time getting ready with the girls, while Megan got to meet with Zack and his gaggle of hysterical groomsmen, and learn all about their secret superhero identities. Zack and Taylor wanted to write their own vows to each other, but instead decided to secretly and privately meet up before the wedding and not see each other, but read each other letters that they had written. While the church basement wasn’t the most picturesque location for this to happen, the emotion was absolutely real, and insanely beautiful. There wasn’t a dry eye around for that (even Megan cried taking their photos!)

Their ceremony was at the Fellowship Bible Church in Brown City, which is the church that Taylor grew up going to. The pastor that married them was a pseudo Grandfather to Taylor, and the love that he shared for the couple was adorable to witness and capture. We then headed over to an old barn that Taylor scouted out to do portraits at. If there is one thing that Brown City isn’t lacking, it’s rustic scenery. We loved the property, and being able to document their sweet love for each other. We joked around with them that we couldn’t wait to see their tall children (they are our tallest couple, to date!) and loved getting to know their bridal party more, too.

Their reception was inside the VFW Hall in Brown City, and we partied the night away with them (and left with a to-go bag of their delicious donuts.) We hope you love this preview into when we were Taylor and Zack’s Brown City Wedding Photographer and Sanilac County wedding photography team. If you’re getting married, we would love to chat with you!

Lexington Elopement Photographer | Kat & Nicholas

    Lexington Elopement Photographer

After spending a spur-of-the-moment Saturday afternoon in August with Kat and Nicholas, we have the opinion that everybody needs to witness or photograph and elopement like theirs sometime in their lives. Kat and Nick contacted us (literally) a week before their wedding day to be their Lexington Elopement Photographer. They were in the planning stages of coming over to this side of the state (they live in Kalamazoo, now) and get married on the shores of their special place in Lexington Heights, Michigan. They wanted a very small event, with only close friends and family present, and including their children into their day was also very important to them.

It was forecasted to severally storm that day, so instead, they had their ceremony in Kat’s parent’s back yard on their patio. Nick’s sister got ordained on the internet to perform their service, and surprised them by also putting together a sand ceremony to blend their lives together. Kat and Nicholas met in the theater, performing for the play A Streetcar Named Desire. Their ceremony was the most moving ceremony we’ve probably ever witnessed. They recited their own vows to each other, and even some Shakespeare was quoted at the end. After their kiss, they quickly went inside and got a champagne toast going, and the celebration began.

Remember how we mentioned the weather forecast? Well, it turned out to be a gorgeous day, and we spent some time after their ceremony in Lexington Heights doing some intimate portraits with the two of them, and then we met up in Lexington before their dinner reception for some larger group family shots. They had dinner on Lake Huron, and spent the day celebrating their love and new vows an promises to each other.

Kat was a stunning bride, but their love for each other really shines through in these photos, and we couldn’t help but share some of our favorites with you. If you’re planning an elopement in Eastern Michigan, we’d love to discuss becoming your Lexington Elopement Photographer. We have smaller packages available, perfect for an intimate elopement celebration!

Black River Country Club Wedding Photographer

Back in July, we had the opportunity to hang out with Mike and Danielle, and be their Black River Country Club wedding photographer for the day. We have to start out by saying that the day was seriously the most perfect and quintessential summer time day for Eastern Michigan. It was in the low 70’s, and beautifully sunny, with a slight breeze coming off the river. We couldn’t have dreamed up a more beautiful day, weather wise, and also for the wedding.

Black River Country Club was the perfect venue fit for their wedding theme, which was Disney inspired. Danielle was so creative, and hid Mickey Mouse throughout her bouquet, cake, tables, ring boxes…seriously every where. Mike had his own theme as well; super villains. They were mildly obsessed with carrying on their own unique theme, and it gave for lots of funny photos and candid moments captured.

Their officiant was one of Mike’s best friend, who flew in from overseas (on a 16 hour flight) and he performed the ceremony on absolutely no sleep. The ceremony ended up being perfect, and knowing their officiant was a super special memory that they’ll have forever.

The Black River Country Club was very kind, and let us borrow some golf carts to use for the day, so we could really explore their beautiful property and utilize it fully for some stunning photos. We loved riding around, and had some hysterical moments with the golf carts, as well as some semi-reckless driving. In fact, at one point, all the villain groomsmen grabbed Mike, shoved him in a golf cart, and sped away. It was a pretty funny kidnapping. (Don’t worry, they brought him back in one piece.)

We hope you love this small preview into Mike & Danielle’s Black River Country Club  wedding.

If you’re in the market for a professional wedding photographer in Port Huron, we’d love to chat with you! In the meantime, make sure to check our portfolio for more examples of our work.

Sanilac County Wedding Photographers | Bridgette & David

Bridgette and David contacted us earlier this year to be their Sanilac County wedding photographer team, and we were so excited to go explore the amazing little beach town of Lexington that is just a short drive north of Port Huron. We love the little village of Lexington, because of all the secret hidden gems located around each curve. There are so many things that are naturally beautiful, between the lake, and the small nooks and crannies throughout the town. We got the chance to venture into the downtown Lexington area for their bridal portraits, and traveling around the city was easy, since they had a small bridal party. We were able to get in a ton of portraits of the two of them, that really captures their love for one another perfectly, as well as their intimacy.

Bridgette is a very quiet and relaxed girl, so their ceremony was perfect. All day, she honestly just beamed and radiated love. They both shed tears throughout the ceremony, and you could really just see how strong their love is for each other, and that’s what we wanted to portray in their photos.

The wedding ceremony took place at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Lexington, a charming little church that Bridgette grew up in. The reception was at the beautiful Lakeview Hills. The day was such a perfect Michigan summer day, we even quietly sneaked out during the reception for some portraits on the golf course, as well.

Bridgette and David, your wedding day was simply perfect, and we can’t thank you enough for choosing Mulberry & Sage Photography to be your Sanilac County wedding photographer team. We hope you love this small preview into your special, love-filled day.

    Lexington Wedding Photographer

Hannah and Devin contacted us earlier this year to be their Lexington Wedding Photographer for their upcoming June 2017 wedding happening at the Knights of Columbus in Lexington, Michigan. We loved getting to know Hannah and Devin and their families and family dynamics. They both come from very large families, and we really enjoyed watching their genuine interactions with each member of their families, from preschool-aged half brothers to infant nephews. We could immediately tell that family values are huge to Devin and Hannah, and that their special day was going to be filled with emotion, and jam-packed with love. (more…)
