Sometimes the stars align for the most magical wedding days, and Tracey and Kevin’s celebration was absolutely one of those times. This sweet couple tied the knot on the last Saturday of August at their home church in Ira, Michigan, and we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day to be their Michigan summer farm wedding photographer.
Mother Nature gifted us with the most gorgeous 65-degree summer day, complete with those dreamy billowy clouds that every photographer dreams of. Those clouds became our best friend, providing natural shade just when we needed it most for those stunning midday portraits that would normally have us scrambling for cover.
What struck us most about Tracey and Kevin was their incredible ease with each other. After eight years together since meeting at work, these two have that comfortable, joyful love that radiates in every photo. Even their pastor commented during the ceremony that by their demeanor, he would have assumed they’d been married for years! Their vows and commitment to each other were such a joy to witness – you could feel the genuine happiness filling that sacred space.
The real magic happened when we moved to their family’s historic farm for portraits. As a Michigan farm wedding photographer, there’s nothing quite like capturing love against the backdrop of a working farm that’s been in operation for over 100 years. That weathered farm sign telling the story of generations, the rustic barns, and the fields created the most authentic and meaningful setting for their photos. Every corner held memories and stories that made this location incredibly special to document.
We also had the pleasure of working alongside Lee from Ultimate Sounds DJ – always our favorite vendor collaboration! When great vendors come together, the magic just flows naturally.
Tracey and Kevin, thank you for letting us be your Michigan farm wedding photographer and capture this beautiful chapter of your love story. Here’s to many more years of that easy, joyful love! If you’re planning a Summer Farm Wedding, we’d love to connect.
