MaryLyn and Chris met while at work; they are both in the healthcare field (she’s a nurse and he’s an EMT) and they’re getting married in May of 2021 at Solitude Links. They found us when they were looking for an engagement photographer in the Port Huron area, and we originally met up via Zoom for their consult, because we were in the height of COVID-19 (round 1.)

MaryLyn and Chris have two kids, age 8 and 6, and they wanted to bring them along for a few photos towards the beginning holding their save-the-date sign. We had an awesome time incorporating them into the session, and always encourage couples to bring what’s special to them, whether that’s human children, dog-children, or even a hobby!

We met up at one of our favorite locations for autumn photos in the Port Huron area, and did some exploring and venturing around for the evening. Their love for each other is visible; Chris has a sarcastic sense of humor and MaryLyn’s laugh was seriously toxic- it was great to witness and watch from behind the camera, and translated well for photos too. We all played some silly games together, did some off-roading and venturing down some fun paths to the river, and then ended up on the beautiful overlook just around sunset. (Funny how that always seems to happen, eh? It’s almost like we plan it strategically!)

We love hanging out with couples prior to their wedding days so we can get to know them, how they interact, and how they “fit” together. That way we aren’t walking in as strangers on your big day, and it helps us know what combinations and poses work and what your favorites are based off your choices of engagement photos because every single couple is so different and unique.
