We first met Chelsea and Jim a few months ago when they came and joined us for a drink (outdoors) on the patio of Casey’s in Downtown Port Huron. We learned all about them as a couple, as well as their upcoming April 2021 wedding set to happen at Creekside Acres Event Barn in Goodrich, Michigan. We’re excited (for many reasons) because we’ve never photographed there before since it’s a newer venue, and we love exploring our awesome state of Michigan and being adventure wedding photographers, especially in the spring when the the area is starting to really come alive after a long winter.

You may be wondering why we’re blogging so late, since these are fall photos. Typically we aim to get the preview blog out within a week of a session or 2 weeks for a wedding, but during those hectic autumn months, Courtney and I are simply trying to stay afloat and think that it’s more important to have a quick gallery turn-around time, compared to stressing about a preview. Don’t you agree? Over the next couple months, you’ll see us publishing some sessions that we have back-logged from the fall time, as well as our final 2020 wedding of the season, too.

Chelsea and Jim have a sweet and playful love that was easy and fun to capture. They wanted to do their session on Jim’s family’s property, which coincidentally happened to be the next street over from me and practically in my backyard- they win the award for closest commute to a session ever. Their session was on practically the peak of fall color, and was seriously stunning, and I loved how a simple outfit change really switched the feeling of the photos from a casual fall hang-out to a dressy autumn-themed portrait session.
