Fort Gratiot Wedding Photographer | Kayla & Matt

fort gratiot wedding photographerWe spent a wet and rainy Sunday with Matt & Kayla as they tied the knot and was their Fort Gratiot wedding photographer for the afternoon. They utilized one of our custom packages, and they booked us for only 2 hours, but we are thrilled with the photos we are able to capture in that time frame.

The ceremony took place at Fort Gratiot County Park. It was a great location, especially with the new tent they added to their grounds. It came in real handy when the ceremony site had to be moved due to the rain. The ceremony was short and sweet and then we were able to focus on the bridal party, and then just the bride and groom.

The reception was held in the upstairs section at the Raven Cafe so on our way downtown we stopped for photos around downtown Port Huron. Now that our studio is complete we had a terrific backup, but the rain was light enough that we were able to shoot outdoors, which we love. It’s such an exciting time for Matt and Kayla; they are going from Mr. and Mrs. in July, to “Mom” and “Dad” to a little one due in November! We are wishing them all the happiness in the world!

We hope you like this sneak peek into when we were Matt & Kayla’s Fort Gratiot Wedding Photographer and St Clair County Wedding Photography Team. If you’re getting married and are interested in a unique package to fit your needs we would love to talk to you about our custom quotes!

“Rain on your wedding day is good luck because it signifies that your marriage will last. As you know, a knot that becomes wet is extremely hard to untie – therefore, when you “tie the knot” on a rainy day, your marriage is supposedly just as hard to unravel!” -Unknown

  • Brown City Wedding Photographer | Taylor & Zack

Brown City Wedding Photographer | Taylor & Zack

Brown City Wedding PhotographerWe met Taylor in the early spring because she was searching for a Brown City wedding photographer to document her marriage to her best friend and fiancee, Zack. She actually had previously booked a different photographer, who ended up accidentally double-booking the date, and we happened to have her exact date open, and are also semi-local to the Brown City area. We love being Sanilac County wedding photographers, and since we both live in the country anyways, Brown City is only about a 45 minute commute through {approximately} a billion corn fields away from us.

Taylor and Zack met while they were both in the marching band for Siena Heights University in Adrian, Michigan. They fell in love, and they absolutely cannot wait to live an awesome life together. Courtney went and spent some time getting ready with the girls, while Megan got to meet with Zack and his gaggle of hysterical groomsmen, and learn all about their secret superhero identities. Zack and Taylor wanted to write their own vows to each other, but instead decided to secretly and privately meet up before the wedding and not see each other, but read each other letters that they had written. While the church basement wasn’t the most picturesque location for this to happen, the emotion was absolutely real, and insanely beautiful. There wasn’t a dry eye around for that (even Megan cried taking their photos!)

Their ceremony was at the Fellowship Bible Church in Brown City, which is the church that Taylor grew up going to. The pastor that married them was a pseudo Grandfather to Taylor, and the love that he shared for the couple was adorable to witness and capture. We then headed over to an old barn that Taylor scouted out to do portraits at. If there is one thing that Brown City isn’t lacking, it’s rustic scenery. We loved the property, and being able to document their sweet love for each other. We joked around with them that we couldn’t wait to see their tall children (they are our tallest couple, to date!) and loved getting to know their bridal party more, too.

Their reception was inside the VFW Hall in Brown City, and we partied the night away with them (and left with a to-go bag of their delicious donuts.) We hope you love this preview into when we were Taylor and Zack’s Brown City Wedding Photographer and Sanilac County wedding photography team. If you’re getting married, we would love to chat with you!

Golden Hawk Golf Course Wedding Photographer | Trisha & Matt

Casco Golden Hawk Golf Club Wedding PhotographerIt seemed fitting to us that when we returned to Casco, Michigan to be a Golden Hawk Golf Course wedding photographer again, that it would be for another local photographer that we met through our beloved online photography forum. You may remember this venue from when we photographed this wedding there in 2017, and we were so stoked to return this year with Trisha, because we knew that no thought to detail would be spared (and she didn’t disappoint!)

Trisha and Matt have been together for quite a while; they have two sweet little girls together aged 6 and 4, who were thrilled to witness Mommy and Daddy get married and party alongside them all day. We started the day with some getting ready photos, and Trisha really wanted some photos of her and the girls jumping on the bed together, as well as her Bride Tribe hanging out in their coordinating robes. Once we arrived at the venue, we were able to pull Matt and his groomsmen aside and take a few photos of them hanging out together, too. We may say this often, but Trisha’s dress was seriously stunning. It was a pale blush color, and the sparkling tulle and detail at the hemline, as well as beaded bodice really set it apart, in our minds. She carried the blush color over into her theme, too, and the tables were adorned with a rose gold sequined runner, tons of small sparkly accents, and, the flowers. The flowers deserve their own post, because they were gorgeous. We love the succulents, and that our couples have really embraced stepping outside the traditional box and adding in beautiful greenery and succulents into their bouquets and table arrangements, too.

The ceremony went beautifully, and the weather was perfect for their outdoor patio wedding. We then explored the grounds via golf cart with the couple, (as well as the great Monique, who is the wedding coordinator at Golden Hawk. She tipped us off to a few hidden locations on the grounds that made for some of our favorite images.)

We couldn’t wait to bring you our favorite highlighted images of when Mulberry & Sage was Trisha and Matt’s Golden Hawk Golf Course Wedding Photographer. If you’re getting married and in the market for a local wedding photographer, we would love to connect with you!

  • Port Huron Elks Lodge Banquet Facility Wedding Photographer | Karen & Roger

Port Huron Elks Lodge Banquet Facility Wedding Photographer | Karen & Roger

Port Huron Elks Club Wedding PhotographerWe first met with Karen and Roger last year, when they contacted us on a referral from another local photographer. They were planning their June wedding and were in the market for a Port Huron Elks Lodge Banquet Facility Wedding Photographer, and we had the date open and we liked each other’s vibes. We couldn’t wait for their June wedding to come, because all the little details that the two of them gave us sounded amazing, and they seriously were.

Roger has been golfing at the Elks Lodge for a long time, and so getting married there was an obvious choice for the two of them. They were supposed to get married on the greens, but, unfortunately, the rainy morning and early afternoon put a halt to those plans and the ceremony got moved indoors, instead. The ceremony was lovely, and we especially loved that Karen’s sons walked her down the aisle to meet her beaming groom.

The room and decor were seriously stunning, and we walked around all night long ogling over all the small details that went into their space. The room was adorned with hand crocheted pieces that they salvaged from Roger’s parent’s home, antique vases, handmade items, and succulents. All the succulents! We’re mildly obsessed with succulents and greenery, so everything was a dream to photograph.

Karen and Roger were both amazing sports; Karen hopped on to a golf cart while it was still raining just a bit and explored the grounds with us for their portraits, and Roger made sure that no one got pegged in the face with a golf ball, since the area we were wanting to photograph them in was literally at the end of the 18th hole (we don’t promise to know a single thing about the actual game.)

At the end of the night, they surprised their guests with a fireworks show, and we were so glad that the rain held back so everyone was able to enjoy them together. Those are some of our favorite images of the night!

We hope you enjoy this small preview into when Mulberry & Sage was Karen and Roger’s Port Huron Elks Lodge Banquet Facility Wedding Photographer team. If you’re looking for a Port Huron wedding photographer, we would love to chat about your upcoming wedding.

  • Port Huron Bean Dock Photographer | Brianne & Dan

Port Huron Bean Dock Photographer | Brianne & Dan

Bean Dock PhotographerWe spent Saturday, May 26th celebrating the marriage of Dan and Brianne, being their Port Huron Bean Dock Photographer. Memorial Day weekend brought in a heat wave, but after a long cold spring, we were ready for it! The day couldn’t have been more beautiful with blue skies and plenty of sunshine.

The Bean Dock in Port Huron was the location Dan and Brianne choose for their venue. Both the ceremony and reception were at the same location, which we happen to love, because it saves on travel time, and we get to focus on documenting more special moments. Their priest from Georgia flew in to marry them and gave a wonderful testament to their love. The bride and groom chose to write their own vows, which brought out all the tissues. It was such a personal and sweet ceremony.

We explored the beautiful Blue Water downtown area for photos of the bridal party, and couple portraits. We hit a few favorites and tried out some new spots which is always fun. When Dan and Brianne began dating, Dan worked at Desmond Marine so of course we had to stop there for some photos, and they are some of our absolute favorites. Our area is known for the great waterways, and we were excited to capture some of the water and boats on their wedding day.

Dinner was hosted by Brothers Catering and everything was delicious! There were so many choices of meats and sides, and the best part of all was the ice cream sundae bar. It was so unique, and such a great way to end the night after hours of dancing. Speaking of dancing-it’s usually the daddy-daughter dance that gets our emotions running, but Bri surprised her mom with a special dance to Carrie Underwood’s, Mamas Song and it was such a sweet tribute. Also, doesn’t Brianne look just like Carrie Underwood? She was stunning, and had the most gorgeous beaded dress. We couldn’t stop  ‘ooo-ing and ahh-ing’ over it all night.

If you are looking for a Port Huron Michigan wedding photographer or a Bean Dock wedding photographer, we would love to talk about how Mulberry & Sage can give you a unique photography team experience like no other.
