    Port Huron Wedding Photographer Team

We have so many details that we want to share from Gillian and Charlie’s Port Huron wedding, we hardly know where to start. Last fall, Gillian and Charlie contacted us to be their Port Huron Wedding Photographer Team. They were originally planning a wedding for August, however, when their ideal date opened up at the venue, their August wedding changed into a September wedding, and it couldn’t have been a more perfect day.

We started the day photographing Gillian getting ready and her parent’s gorgeous house on Black River. The mood was fun, and festive, and we loved all the nautical details around the home. Gillian is an avid sailor and has a sail boat and was practically born with her sea legs, so we really loved incorporating those small details around her parents house, such as the antique models, and the book her Grandfather wrote, into her wedding detail shots. We loved the reveal she had with her Dad, and the special bond that we captured between the two of them, as well.

Then we headed over to the picturesque St. John’s United Church of Christ in Port Huron, and spent some time with Charlie and his ultra-fun group of groomsmen. From there, the ceremony went off without a hitch, and we were able to spend some time after the service capturing the beauty of the old church with some portraits up front, and inside at the alter, as well. Gillian and Charlie literally tied the knot during their ceremony, and we loved witnessing and photographing that moment.

After that, we cruised around Port Huron in their party bus, and stopped off at some of our favorite downtown Port Huron locations for portraits, before heading back to Gillian’s parent’s house again for more portraits- this time including their dog Zeppelin. He holds a special place in their hearts, and we loved those photos and memories they’ll have.

Their reception took place at the Blue Water Convention Center, and was simply beautiful. Once again, little nautical touches were all over the place and it was awesome. The party lasted well into the night, and the atmosphere was super fun.

We hope you enjoy this small preview into when we were Gillian & Charlie’s Port Huron Wedding Photographer Team. Please feel free to leave the couple some happy wishes in the comment section below. If you’re looking for professional wedding photographers in Port Huron, we’d love to connect!

Back in July, we had the opportunity to hang out with Mike and Danielle, and be their Black River Country Club wedding photographer for the day. We have to start out by saying that the day was seriously the most perfect and quintessential summer time day for Eastern Michigan. It was in the low 70’s, and beautifully sunny, with a slight breeze coming off the river. We couldn’t have dreamed up a more beautiful day, weather wise, and also for the wedding.

Black River Country Club was the perfect venue fit for their wedding theme, which was Disney inspired. Danielle was so creative, and hid Mickey Mouse throughout her bouquet, cake, tables, ring boxes…seriously every where. Mike had his own theme as well; super villains. They were mildly obsessed with carrying on their own unique theme, and it gave for lots of funny photos and candid moments captured.

Their officiant was one of Mike’s best friend, who flew in from overseas (on a 16 hour flight) and he performed the ceremony on absolutely no sleep. The ceremony ended up being perfect, and knowing their officiant was a super special memory that they’ll have forever.

The Black River Country Club was very kind, and let us borrow some golf carts to use for the day, so we could really explore their beautiful property and utilize it fully for some stunning photos. We loved riding around, and had some hysterical moments with the golf carts, as well as some semi-reckless driving. In fact, at one point, all the villain groomsmen grabbed Mike, shoved him in a golf cart, and sped away. It was a pretty funny kidnapping. (Don’t worry, they brought him back in one piece.)

We hope you love this small preview into Mike & Danielle’s Black River Country Club  wedding.

St. Clair County Engagement Session | Liz & Brandon’s “Picnic”

    St. Clair County Engagement Session

Liz and Brandon are probably one of the coolest couple’s we’ve ever met. They contacted us to do their St. Clair County Engagement Session, and tossed around the idea with us that they kind of wanted to have it picnic themed. We searched down the perfect location for their session in St. Clair County, which is a beautiful overlook with a mountainous vibe, practically begging to be the most beautiful backdrop for engagement photos.

When Liz and Brandon popped out of their car with their adorable picnic basket, and vase of flowers, our heart literally skipped a beat. Everything was perfect, and we loved that she added in some minor props that really made her vision come to life. What we didn’t realize though, is that the most important and vital part of their picnic was their craft beer. It’s something meaningful and fun to them, and a hobby that they both enjoy together. So naturally, it turned an average engagement session into a customized and unique portrait session that showcases them, and who they are. And who doesn’t love a beer themed picnic on top of a ravine?

We love being St. Clair County wedding photographers, and really encourage all our future bride and grooms to book an engagement session with us prior to their wedding date. It really gives us the opportunity to get to know the couple, before the added stresses of the actual wedding date. We find that if we do an engagement session first, we walk in to the wedding as “friends” rather than strangers, and that makes everything on the wedding day way less awkward and weird for everyone.

We hope you love this small preview into Liz & Brandon’s super fun St. Clair County Engagement Session. Feel free to leave them some love in the comment section below.

    Tina's Country House Wedding Photographer

Back in July, we were able to spend the day celebrating Ashlee & David’s wedding day, and being Tina’s Country House Wedding Photographers in Macomb County. This was the first time we have ever photographed a wedding there, and it was awesome to explore the grounds and gardens, and see a new and different wedding venue in Macomb County. The food was great, and we may (or may not) still have dreams of the cannolis that Tina’s hand makes, that were to die for. (Seriously. So good.)

Ashlee and David have a very sweet love story. Ashlee needed her car fixed, and a friend told her to take it to David. They met, and since then, have been inseparable. Ashlee has two boys from a previous relationship, and David stepped right in and loves the boys as if they are his own. It’s a sweet relationship to witness. Then, together, Ashlee and David had baby Roman (who kept giving me very serious faces all night long. Adorable.)

Their wedding at Tina’s Country House was so much fun. It was full of dancing and all around a giant party scene, so the candid photos that we captured throughout the day were some of our absolute favorites. We had so much fun joking right along with the bridal party and guests, and capturing the celebration of the entire day. Most of the details you see photographed are all hand made and crafted by Ashlee. She was literally hot gluing the groomsmen’s boutineers in the hotel room as she was getting her hair done; talk about some serious dedication! She crafted all the centerpieces, as well as all the floral arrangements that the bridal party used, and we loved the tiny little details that, we could tell, were made out of love.

Ashlee & David, thank you for choosing Mulberry & Sage Photography to be your Tina’s Country House Wedding Photographers. We hope you enjoy this small preview into your amazing wedding day.

If you’re in the market for a Macomb County wedding photographer team, we’d love to chat with you!

Today we’re back to talk about Beth & Mark’s beautiful wedding back in June, when they hired the Mulberry & Sage trio to be their McMorran Wedding Photographer team. We met Beth and Mark back in the winter, and immediately loved their story and spirits. Combined, they have six kids; making them kind of like an awesome, modern-day version of the Brady Bunch. They wanted a unique wedding, and are both avid hockey fans, so the McMorran in Downtown Port Huron was the perfect choice for their wedding venue. They live in the Sterling Heights area, but Beth’s brother works for the local radio station WBTI, so they always visit the Blue Water Area, and love the area as if they were locals.

Courtney was able to photograph the guys when they were getting ready, and focus on Mark’s family photos before the ceremony, while Megan hung with Beth and got to photograph her funny and gigantic family down by the Blue Water Bridges. Kathryn was also able to join us for the ceremony portion, and it was awesome to work together as a Port Huron wedding photography team with the three of us, and get every single detail from the wedding that we know Beth & Mark will love and cherish for years to come. Our personal favorite part was when all the kids were called to the front to mix sand together, symbolizing the unity of their family. Beth’s daughter was quite emotional, and it was seriously the sweetest thing ever. She’s a lucky little girl, to now have 5 big brothers to watch over and protect her.

After the ceremony, we did our portrait session in front of the McMorran, as well as at a few other areas downtown, and then we were able to go into the actual arena and take some fun photos in the classic vintage seats up there, as well. It was awesome for the sports-loving family that Beth & Mark have.

We hope you enjoy this preview into Beth & Mark’s special day, and if you’re looking for a Port Huron McMorran Wedding Photographer team, we’d love to chat with you! You can learn more about our team here.
