Earlier this week we brought you all our favorite bridal trends that we saw happen this past year, while also making a promise that we would be back later with the rest of our weddings from 2017, because, frankly, they were all too amazing in their own ways. Instead of focusing on the trends though, we wanted to switch it up and chat about some of our favorite moments that we documented this past year. Often times, as professional wedding photographers, we look back at weddings and will remember certain aspects or tidbits of things that stood out from other weddings, and we love witnessing those, and sharing them. So this blog post is devoted to our favorite wedding moments of 2017. We can’t wait to share more upcoming wedding moments with you in 2018, too! (more…)
We are so excited to introduce you to Danielle & Ronnie, who hired Mulberry & Sage Photography be their Fall Engagement Photographer. They are getting married October 20th, 2018. Danielle knew she wanted a fall engagement session so we put them on our calendar during the wedding photography consultation to ensure they had a great date. Unfortunately, the cold weather & rain delayed our session by almost 2 weeks, and pushed us past peak season for leaf color. Constant open communication is something we are proud to offer our couples.
We learned Danielle & Ronnie were worried about all the color being gone from the trees and a they were a little anxious for the location of their session. At Mulberry & Sage Photography, we don’t rest until we are able to give our clients exactly what they are looking for. We drove around St. Clair County until we were positive we found the perfect spot and the leaves and views did not disappoint!
Danielle’s sister did her hair, and she looked stunning. We were also a little obsessed with Ronnie’s beard 😉 It’s not all about looks though; what makes a session great is the chemistry between the couple. Danielle and Ronnie are completely in love in a adorably smitten, and couldn’t take their hands off each other. When we began shooting they mentioned never having photos taken as a couple before. It was our honor to shoot their first session. We were delighted with the results and we hope you are too!
If you’re in the market for a Fall Engagement Photographer in the Port Huron area, we would love to chat with you. Our 2018 wedding schedule is quickly booking, and many of our packages come with an engagement session included, because we want the chance to get to know you (and vice versa!) and get you excited and comfortable around us so that when we show up to photograph your wedding, it’s like hanging out with old friends. Please drop us a line if you’re newly engaged and would like to chat about having Mulberry & Sage be your wedding photographer team.
We were so excited that Amanda & AJ hired us as their wedding photography team. We were equally thrilled that they chose a wedding collection that included an engagement session. Engagement sessions are the absolute best way to get to know each other and we fully recommend them to all of our brides and grooms. We love meeting our couples at the consultation, but the engagement session is where we get to witness your relationship first hand. By learning your love languages, we can help you relax quicker, and get comfortable in front of the camera. Are you romantic, and love kissing poses, or snuggling up as close as possible? Maybe the thought of that makes you laugh. Perhaps you prefer the candid moments we catch in-between the poses that show the silly side of your relationship. Once we take the time to get to know you as a couple, we can guarantee a gallery full of photographs that you will love. When we see you again on your wedding day, you will be less nervous about being photographed and just focus on your wedding day and not our camera.
Amanda & AJ are getting married September 8th, 2018. We decided a fall engagement session would be perfect for them-and it was! Mother Nature gifted us with fabulous color in the trees, and beautiful weather for their engagement session. We couldn’t be any happier with how they turned out.
We hope you enjoy this small sample from their engagement photography gallery they will receive. It’s one of the perks of hiring Mulberry & Sage Photography as your Wedding Photography Team. If you’re in the market for an engagement or wedding photographer, we’d love to connect with you and chat about your perfect engagement session.
We spent a wet and rainy Saturday with Chris and Jessica being their Black River Country Club Wedding Photographer for the day. If you want to judge a couple’s strengths and true personalities, let it pour rain allllll day long on their perfectly-planned fall wedding. Chris and Jessica were the best; no dampened spirits, and nothing could take away from their excitement. Even with a last minute decision to move their ceremony into the reception venue, we never heard a single complaint. That is how we know that they are a great match, and it was an honor to witness the love they share.
Jessica made many of the decorations and our favorite was the corsage for her grandmother. Her grandpa passed away last year and Jessica added a photo of her grandparents on their wedding day to the corsage. That way he could be there in spirit. It was such a heartfelt moment to capture as she gave it to her grandmother. Jessica is just so thoughtful like that. It was evident in many of the little touches around the room. We also loved how she surprised Chris, an avid star wars fan, with not only the coolest cuff-links we’ve ever seen, but also a grooms cake-an awesome rendition of the millenium falcon.
Chris was completely smitten with his bride, something that we love to see. His reaction to seeing her walk down the aisle was something all brides dream of. He was visibly blown away. Jessica was stunning. He could not take his eyes off her all night and we think he sang every word of their first dance to her. It was like they were the only ones in the room. Also, while we are on the topic of dancing, Chris surprised his mom with Cotton Eyed Joe as their first dance song-for about one minute anyways. It was an inside joke between them and her reaction was priceless!
Since it rained all day with not a single break we had to think quick for a location for photos after the ceremony. We have to give a big thank you to Tonya, the event planner at Tio Gordos restaurant. They came through for us and shuffled their parties around to go out of their way to accommodate our wedding party. If you haven’t seen their event space yet, you should check it out. Building relationships across Port Huron is very important to us, and something we pride ourselves in doing to offer the very best experience for any couple that books with Mulberry & Sage Photography.
We are thrilled that you choose us as your Black River Country Club Wedding Photographer. If you’re getting married and looking for a Port Huron wedding photographer, we’d love to connect. We hope you love this small preview into Jessica & Chris’ wedding day.
We just want to start by saying there is nothing better than a couple really appreciates the photography at their wedding. Jennifer & Brad contacted us before they were even ‘officially’ engaged because that’s how badly they wanted to book us. It was the biggest compliment ever!! We were so excited to finally celebrate with them at their wedding on October 7th, and be their Marlette Plantation Place Wedding Barn Photographer.
The whole event took place at the Plantation Place Wedding Barn; one of our favorite locations! The venue is so great because it makes the day even more relaxing when there is no traveling between the ceremony & reception and all the photos are able to be done right on site. Jennifer got ready in the farm house with her girls while Brad and his guys got ready in the old milk house. The farm house is exactly as you would picture it, with a wide front porch and welcoming layout. The milk house is rustic and casual. The grounds are a photography dream come true, and a perfect blend of manicured garden, yet wild beauty is still evident everywhere.
Jennifer & Brad wanted to wait until the ceremony to see each other but we loved capturing a gift exchange orchestrated but their bridal party. Jennifer gifted Brad a beautiful watch inscribed with “I love you more every second” that made us swoon. Brad got Jennifer a gorgeous pair of new cowboy boots that she wore down the aisle (with flat Bradley attached!) The ceremony itself went off without a hitch and they sealed the deal by literally tying the knot. A fisherman’s knot; one of the strongest there is.
The whole reception was just so upbeat and fun! Brad & Jennifer had one of the most uniquely talented DJ’s we’ve seen. Rodneydescribes himself as a violinist first, and he spent the night mixing radio hits with his talented violin playing. Our absolute favorite was when he played ‘Wagon wheel’ and had everyone clapping and singing along.
We loved being Jennifer & Brad’s Marlette Plantation Place Wedding Barn Photographer, and hope you enjoy this small preview into their rustic, fun-filled wedding day on the farm!
